Over the last 50 years they’ve empowered tens of thousands of young New Zealanders to reach their full potential through the challenge of the sea. So for every participating Jed’s Bean Bag pack purchased, we’re giving back 20 cents to the Spirit of Adventure Trust to continue to help young kiwis explore the adventure of a lifetime.
A 10 Day Voyage on board Spirit of New Zealand is a life-changing experience – where forty 16-18 year olds from all over the country come together to share the challenge of 10 days at sea.
Sailing is just one of the many new skills participants learn and not the whole 10 days is spent on the ship. Activities also include swimming, beach games and clean-ups, rafting, hiking and more.
During a voyage participants learn a lot about themselves, take on new challenges, work effectively in teams and become leaders.
Every voyage is totally unique, but the common theme is friendship and memories that last a lifetime. From the first step onboard, participants are thrown into a new experience, challenged to try new things and to push outside their comfort zones.
Spirit of Adventure Trust has been operating for almost 50 years transforming the lives of young New Zealanders. Many still attribute their voyage as a pivotal moment in creating the positive trajectory for their success. Many also return to volunteer as crew on board to enjoy sharing the experience with others.
